Away we went to London it was on the 8th March
We went to sing to Parliament and by it was a lark
We got the train from Newcastle and picked up on the way
Yi should have heard wa WASPI NEWTS, so join us as we say:
Chorus
Parliament were coming doon on mass
We only want wa pension cos wa savings winit last
Yiv robbed wi of wa money and yi think wiv givin in
Well we have all got news for you (1, 2, 3, 4)
So tek it on the chin
When we got to the City, wa banners in wa grasp
The (guvament) government were hiding cos they're terrified of wasps
Wi swarmed aroond the Green yi kna and buzzed aroond the grounds
We tried to hunt down (Tree-sa) Theresa May but shoes were all we found
Chorus
We sang wa tune for media and MP's all joined in
Wor lasses wore tha sashes
Cos we are ganna win
Parliament's no match for us ‘cause WASPI's have a sting
We paid into the pension pot
Now giz the bliddy thing
Chorus
We talked to folk about wa plight and all the de-vas-tat-ion
Women of the 50's are demanding comp-en-sa-tion
The Work and Pensions Minister was nowhere to be seen
He's sitting on our pension pot and taking all wa dreams
Chorus
Thousands of us lasses, began to sing again
We'll never stop our shouting and ya lugs will be in pain
We worked in shops and hospitals and even scrubbed the floors
Wa wages half yi paid the men and pensions oot the doors
Chorus
Yi send wi doon for JSA and jobs that don't exist
Wa sick of filling in ya forms
We've got arthritic wrists
Wa knees are bad from kneeling and wa bones are wearing thin
Now give wi all wa pension
Because we paid it in
Chorus
Now listen all in Parliament
Cos you’re not being fair
Wi paid into the system but wa pension isn't there
We'll fight until you listen to the women of the fifties
We'll grind you doon eventually
Wa sick of being thrifty
Chorus
